TL;DR: If you play the second, you'll loose something unrepeatable which is first's experience of being the first, but you if you play both, you loose nothing but time which if you liked the games won't be really lost.
Reasons are: -You'll have hard time understanding whats going on if you start with D2. -D2 antagonist is ACTUALLY better developed in 2 DLCs to D1. So you are kinda expected to have played that content before entering D2. -D2 has some QoL improvements that may make it harder for you to play D1 after you play D2.
