If you forced me to choose one with a crossbow on my head, I would probably say I prefer Iorveth's path by a small margin, but Roche's also has its merits. So here's my definitive pros and cons list. ROCHE
If you’re planning on doing both, I believe the general consensus is to do Roche’s path first, and then Ioverth’s as a companion playthrough to fill in the gaps. There are some spoilers in Ioverth’s playthrough that would definitely affect your experience in Roche’s.
While with Iorveth you see more of Saskia and how the Mages plan comes together during Chapter 2, I enjoyed it more when it was more on the Regal side of the story, especially leading into Chapter 3. I also played out both choices of choosing either to save Triss during Roche's story choice or to save the child of Foltest, Anais.
Though personal preference is Iorveth, found his storyline more fun. Roche feels like the right choice but Iorveth’s is more fun. Recommend trying out both. It depends on preference, since each story has a different tone for act 2. You have to do both if you want the actual Witcher 2 expeience.
Nov 16, 2015 · If you stick with the Iorveth path, you can eventually watch Roche from afar using magic. He tells his men you are innocent, and not to attack you if they encounter you again. Even after you betrayed him to join an outright terrorist cell, he tells them to stand down if they meet you, because he believes in you.
Sep 10, 2014 · There's a reference to it right when you character meets Iorveth for the first time and Geralt talks about Iorveth being used. That said, it's your choice. I would create two saves and play through both branches to experience the full game.

May 20, 2020 · I played both paths. I liked Iorveth's a lot more, especially the whole plot with the dragon. I felt like I couldn't really bring myself to like either Roche or even Geralt during Roche's path in terms of morality. The people you back are just not cool. Although Dethmold was pretty entertaining.
