If you want to quickly improve play harder maps (play 5*). The patterns in 5+ are completely different from 3’s, so that’s when you’re actually starting to play the game. Don’t super focus on your tapping, just try to feel the rhythm and read ahead based on how many notes are on the screen.
I've seen a couple posts but none of them really gave a straight up answer to what rank you should be for how what maps you can finish and what maps you can FC. I play around the 5-6 star area and have FCed a couple 5 stars and choked 3-4 5star FCs right at the end lol. I'm rank ~69,000.
Play maps that don’t require too much effort to FC and also play maps where you need to focus. You’ll build your consistency and still continue to develop playing comfort and difficult maps. This worked out for me.
for anything over a minute in length, split the map into practice difficulties and play them until you've memorized them. might take a couple hours total for a 2 minute beatmap. memorize in sections, play them over and over, analyze patterns you struggle with in editor, halftime helps. learned shiori and lonely go pretty quickly.
My first pre-warm collection I made: 1. Stream Practice Maps – 150 bpm. This would warm my fingers up for standard play. 2. Square Jump Practice Maps – 180 bpm. Play either AR 9 or AR 10 (depending on which one you can do). This would warm up my aim and reading. 3. Maid-chan Yori – rollpan’s Extra.

May 7, 2021 · why i say play osu mania? well, it's got an entirely new set of maps. if you can do 15-20 qr you are proably going to want to do maps rated 3.5-4 stars, although be aware, star rating is not a true refection of how hard a mpa can be (for example, "the empress" is a map which you probably cannot pass due to its unfair rating in osus mania)
