Probably. An anatomy course without a lab portion where you're dissecting a cadaver - or at least visualizing it firsthand - may not be entirely useful. Covering some basic anatomy before med school shouldn't hurt, but I reckon you will only gain a marginal "advantage" over other med students in your cohort.

I never took anatomy as an undergrad and it is not a pre-req at many schools, so I didn't feel the need to take it. However, my friend said that many schools expect you to have a background in anatomy.
