And don't attempt to relight a “dud” or defective unit. Wait at least 30 minutes before approaching a firework that did not go off.
Under the Fireworks Bylaw, you may be fined $1,000 for setting off consumer fireworks without a permit on days other than Victoria Day or Canada Day. If firework displays are happening on any day of the year on any type of property and are dangerous or there is a serious situation, please call 9-1-1.
