Oct 24, 2024 · In general, the cost of a Nashville car rental is between $40 to $90 per day for a mid-size car. The price can fall outside of this range due to several factors: your age, the type of car you rent, insurance inclusions, and even the time of your visit.
What you'd spend on car, gas, and parking would be way more than a few trips with Uber/Lyft/taxi. If you end up in the Opryland area, it's a bit tougher. It's out in the 'burbs so you need ground transportation to get to downtown and back. Only the Opryland Hotel charges for parking, but you'll be paying for parking at downtown lots/garages.
Jul 16, 2024 · If you’re looking for a cheaper option, you may want to consider renting a car from a rental car agency in the city. Bottom line: Renting a car at Nashville International Airport is more convenient, but it can be more expensive due to taxes and fees.
If you are going to be drinking and partying, as most visitors do, then definitely go with rideshare. If you plan on visiting places more than half an hour outside of Nashville then rent the car for a day or two to do those things, then rideshare for the remainder of your stay.
The caveat is that people here drive like absolute maniacs so I'd recommend maybe like taking uber/lyft the first day to see what it's like to ride around in a car in the city, then rent a car the rest of the days if you decide to. If you do rent a car, I'd recommend driving down Natchez Trace and stopping at little towns along the way.
I’ve gone both ways while in Nashville, rented a car and used ride share. After adding up all the parking receipts you will realize how much more expensive it is for a rental car. Ride sharing is soooo much more convenient , especially if you are drinking. They pick you up and drop you off on the spot. No walking, no parking fees.
