Even back then Lex had many instances of tech showing him things from space, like studying the shower and finding out there was a ship that crashed in the previous one and in the season 4 finale, so you would figure there would be a way for Lex with his billions and/or his NASA hook ups could've seen the shower faster than 3 hours until impact. 🤷
