   Jun 30, 2015 · Santa Rosa, California. Sorry to take so long, but there are no hotels or inns in Sunset Bay State Park. It is strictly for camping. If you want to stay in the are you either look in Bandon or Coos Bay. Bandon is a cuter town, whereas Coos Bay is an old logging/fishing town and more blue collar.

   Sept 2020. There are two Sunset Beachs on the Oregon coast. This one is on the eastern edge of Sunset Bay near Charleston, Oregon, several miles west of Coos Bay/Northbend. As this is Oregon the water is nearly always cold. The beach is protected from most major ocean waves and is quite accessible from nearby parking.

   Is Sunset Bay a good place to stay?

   • Sunset Bay is a beautiful area. The bay/beach cove is exceptional. Parking is great as well. The problem here is that there are NO restroom facilities. ll restrooms are closed. The state of Oregon prefers tourists and visitors to urinate and defecate in the bushes and shrubs. I consider this unsanitary. Other that that the place is beautiful.
