Tales of the Gold Monkey was an American adventure drama television series [1] [2] [3] broadcast in prime time on Wednesday nights by ABC from September 22, 1982, until June 1, 1983. [ 4 ] [ 5 ] [ 6 ] Debuting the year following the release of Raiders of the Lost Ark , [ 3 ] the series featured early aviation, indigenous locals, and cliff-hanging action.
Set in 1938, in a backwater corner of the South Pacific, a young American adventurer and his ragtag group of friends become involved in death-defying hijinks, transporting people-on-the-run in a well-worn Grumman Goose seaplane.
Fri, Mar 4, 1983. While spending their honeymoon on a secluded island, a man and his bride are assaulted by mercenaries who seemingly work for Princess Koji. Jake, who was contracted to fly them to and from the island, returns to pick them up. There he finds the man beaten nearly to death and the woman missing.
