  4. High school students. You can apply to take UW–Madison classes as a University Special Student the Summer Term before your junior or senior year of high school. To apply, your GPA must be at least 3.0 overall and in the most recent semester of high school, and your guidance counselor must recommend you for Summer Term.

  5. The Summer Transitional Enrichment Program (STEP) gives students finishing grades 6–8 the opportunity to spend two weeks studying one accelerated course. STEP is designed to engage, challenge and inspire students academically, while offering plenty of opportunities to build community.
