- I suspect you're looking at the wrong kind of alignment-- Align in the Arrange group on the Page Layout tab. What you're actually looking for is in the Page Setup dialog. To access this dialog: Double-click at the top of the horizontal ruler. This is by far the easiest way, available regardless of which Ribbon tab is displayed.

Jun 30, 2022 · Check to see if your page is vertically aligned. If it is, as you type, text will scroll up as well as down on the page. This is controlled in the page setup dialog on the Layout tab. Layout > Page Setup dialog (click on the little arrow in the bottom right of the Page Setup group to get the dialog. We can't see what you are seeing.
