Leigh Whannell’s Upgrade was a wonderful blend of The Six Million Dollar Man and Death Wish, with a little dash of William Gibson and Philip K. Dick thrown into spice things up, but overall it was an exciting action film with a nice little anti-tech sentiment theme laced throughout.
In the first scene the main character cuts his finger while working on his car and sucks the blood off it. Later, his body is taken over by an artificial intelligence who wanted to be human, and after taking over his body in the last scene and getting his hand stabbed, tastes the blood off his finger, almost like it was tasting what it was like ...
