Well, calamity says its bosses are designed to be harder than vanilla ones, but i understand that difficulty rise even between calamity bosses can seem unfair. My guess is d.o.g is just the hardest boss in calamity at the point you have to fight him, probably except exo-mechs and supreme calalmitas

Only one of the two masks can drop at a time. The Slime God was one of the first bosses added to the Calamity Mod, along with the Desert Scourge and The Devourer of Gods. If the Boss Checklist Mod is installed, its unique despawn message will be "The grimy, gelatinous God hops away, its vengeance achieved."
