Oct 25, 2024 · For true 2600 nostalgia, a CX78+ isn't it. The Atari VCS never had that controller. I bought my 2600+ because my light 6-switcher and TV don't play together nicely. The CX40+ is just a great joystick, in my humble opinion.
Apr 25, 2014 · Most consoles get redesigned at least once during their lifetime (NES, SNES, Playstation 1, Playstation 2, etc.) and sometimes twice (Intelivision, Game Boy, etc.) It does seem strange that Atari had the 2600 in so many versions, but the system did have a long life -- officialy made and supported from 1977 to 1991.
