Wataru Mimura (三村 渉, Mimura Wataru, May 7, 1954 – August 26, 2021 [1]) was a Japanese screenwriter with a career largely focused around Toho's Godzilla series. [2] On August 26, 2021, Mimura died from multiple system atrophy.
Wataru Mimura is a Japanese screenwriter and director. He was born on 7 May 1954 in Mie, Japan. He graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts in 1978. He is best known for his work on the films "Kamikaze Girls" (2004), "The Great Passage" (2013), and "The Long Excuse" (2016). Mimura has been active in the film industry since the early 1980s.

Perhaps one of the "better-known" Godzilla manga, this adaptation of Godzilla 2000 Millennium (1999) is, in many ways, much better than the actual film, and takes many an "artistic liberty," on a similar level with Shogakukan's Heisei series adaptations. The artwork is much very anime style, and presents a nice version of Godzilla.
