  5. Dec 29, 2023 · My “go to” pattern books are the Orvis Fly Pattern Index (volumes 1 & 2), Poul Jorgensen’s “Modern Trout Flies”, and Dick Stewart’s “Universal Fly Tying Guide”. I’m old school, so most of the patterns I fish would be found in there. If I need something newer, I just look for it online.
