Let’s discover what the Bible teaches about our spiritual body in heaven. Christians Will Be Like Jesus. 1 Corinthians 15:45-49 tells us that Adam was a man of dust, and Christ is a man of heaven. In verse 49, the apostle states that believers in Christ will be like Christ in heaven.

Jul 1, 2022 · So, here’s Paul’s point: after the resurrection, we will have a body perfectly suited for life in heaven (that is, on the New Earth in eternity, Revelation 21:1). The “spiritual body” will be made of flesh (like Jesus’ body is), but a different kind of flesh than what we have now.
They will be real, physical, genuinely human bodies—the very same bodies we have while on this earth—yet wholly perfected and glorified. Second Corinthians 5:1 calls the resurrection body “a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”.

“The Peace of Wild Things” by Wendell Berry
When despair grows in me and I wake in the night at the least sound in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be, I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds. I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief. I come into the presence of still water. And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting for their light. For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

“The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way...

“If—” by Rudyard Kipling
If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; … Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it, And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

“The Song Of Wandering Aengus” By William Butler Yeats
I went out to the hazel wood, Because a fire was in my head, And cut and peeled a hazel wand, And hooked a berry to a thread; And when white moths were on the wing, And moth-like stars were flickering out, I dropped the berry in a stream And caught a little silver trout. When I had laid it on the floor I went to blow the fire a-flame, But something rustled on the floor, And someone called me by my name: It had become a glimmering girl With apple blossom in her hair Who called me by my name an...

Jul 30, 2023 · Paul’s extended discourse in 1 Corinthians 15 on the believer’s transformation from a “natural body” (ψυχικὸς σῶμα) to a “spiritual body” (πνευματικός σῶμα) instructs us then in envisioning the intersection of three crucial theological threads—creation, redemption, and eschatology.
