The Power Base Converter is made for the original Genesis model and requires some modding to fit comfortably on a model 2, while all other variations are incompatible.
32X. The 32X is an add-on for the Sega Genesis video game console. Codenamed "Project Mars", it was designed to expand the power of the Genesis and serve as a transitional console into the 32-bit era until the release of the Sega Saturn. Model 1 are damn near indestructible. They are far more often functional and require less drastic maintenance. they do often need a good cleaning, but thats just 30 years for ya. It's a general rule that the oldest models have the highest quality hardware. The 3 being the lowest quality one.
