Ammo table helps, but PS ammo with sks/ak (can be modded with a scope) is good. aks is okay, but make sure to have mid-tier ammo for anything not a scav. think it goes bp/bt/bs (check ammo chart). mp5/ump for knife trade is good from peacekeeper. get the more expensive of the 2 ammos available at lvl1 traders. 7mm buck w/ shottys. go for head/legs w/ any of the low pen ammos (smgs/shottys ...
A lot of larger content creators and players preach that ammo matters much more than the gun - use your scav run to prioritize some good ammo spots, I like reserve for 5.45 ammo and then the attachment cabin on woods has good ammo in about every caliber (but is hit more often).
