Jun 23, 2021 · The Minecraft 1.17 Caves and Cliffs update has brought about several tameable animal mobs like axolotl, goats and glow squids. These mobs have joined the existing list of tameable animals in Minecraft. In this article, we will show you all the animals that can be tamed in Minecraft 1.17.

- Axolotls. These are cute and passive aquatic mobs that will attack other underwater animals like cod and salmon. Players can tame these adorable creatures by breeding them and getting a baby axolotl.
- Wolf. Wolves are one of the fan-favorite tameable animals in Minecraft and are often treated equally to dogs by players. Wolves can be found in forests and taiga biomes.
- Donkey. 1-3 donkeys can be found together in the plains biome and Savanna biome. Donkeys always spawn alone in the savanna biome. Adult donkeys can be tamed by mounting it repeatedly, until they start trusting the player.
- Llama. Llamas usually spawn in savanna biomes and can be tamed by repetitively riding it until it starts trusting the player.

Each animal can be tamed via different mechanics. Wolves can be tamed by giving the animal bones. Cats and parrots can be tamed by giving the animal its favorite food. Once tamed, these animals will follow the player unless told to sit. Tamed wolves will start fighting alongside their master.

- Mules. Mules are pretty underrated animals, but they have the qualities of both donkeys and horses. Players cannot find mules spawning naturally in Minecraft.
