With these three mods, animals could get sick, got angry when you hit one of their peers [or ran away] and you could feed them by throwing food on the ground! Maybe (please), make an add-on AI mod for Animania or adding these things I'm suggesting.

The mod adds over 35 animals, and is constantly growing. We add not only animals but a variety of content, from blocks to armor, supplementing the creatures in the mod. Better Animals Plus is envisioned as a companion mod to Better Animal Models, but can fully work on its own.
You could try Enigmatica 2 Light. I know there's All the Mods 3 Lite as well, but I haven't really used it. Edit: Disable frogs from Quark spawning in Enigmatica 2 Light, at the moment there's a problem with them spawning waaay to many (2500+) and causing pretty bad TPS lag on my server.
