Its permanent exhibit, ‘And We Still Rise’ takes visitors on a powerful through time starting across the ocean in Africa and ending in present day.

We have created an in-house exhibition centered on our founder, Charles Howard Wright, M.D. (1919-2002), that celebrates his life and achievements.
Right across the street from the Wright Museum of African American History is the Detroit Institute of Arts, which features numerous galleries dedicated to African-American artists. These artists include Hale Woodruff, Betye Saar, Gilda Snowden, Charles McGee and more.
