Sorry for my ignorance, but what is a Scavenger Hunt? It's a new event that is currently being beta tested (a small portion of randomly selected players have it). It appears it will be more like the First Person Exploration event (with low rewards, 24h long and running alongside the regular events).
Here are some tips and tricks to make them easier to handle. Check the spreadsheet to know when a TLSQ will be triggered and don't just rush through your storyline and Quidditch story (in Season 1-3 Chapters 9 and 12 are TLSQS, in Season 4 only Chapter 12. Be careful: Quidditch TLSQs are one-try only and are unlikely to ever get a retry!)

Want to know even more helpful tips and tricks for completing Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery? This wiki guide page will help you with more of the tedious and important sections of the game, including secrets and other great info on getting through some of the tough parts of the game.
During certain parts of the story, you'll have to spend Gems in order to continue. The cost for doing so can vary (Usually costing around 55 Gems) depending on the quest and where you are in the story. However, you can also wait a specificed time limit before the story becomes open for you.
If you find yourself unwilling to spend money for more Gems, you can wait for the quest to open up naturally. This usually happens after about 2-3 hours, with a timer displayed where you can access the quest.
During your lessons in each class at Hogwarts during the game, you may occassionally be asked a question about the class itself. This can range from the topics of the class, to something else related to the Harry Potter universe. Answering these questions correctly are important as they will give you bonus attribute points for your character, as well as bonus points towards your house for the House Cup.
Here are answers to every question that you'll find in the game. (More questions and their answers will be added as they are discovered in-game)
•What does the Lumos charm provide?
Light
•No spell yet devised allows a Wizard to do what?
Fly unaided
There are certain areas you can visit where tapping the screen will give you free bonus energy. These areas can be revisited around every six hours. If you find yourself out of energy or getting close to doing so, take a detour to one of these locations to refill your energy bar. (NOTE: More locations are being discoverd, they will be added to this list as more info becomes avaliable.)
•East Towers - The first blank portrait
Tap the ghost that hangs out by the ladder to the Divination classroom
•West Towers - The second portrait
•Lower Floor - West - Tap the flame on right of Great Hall
Tap the middle soilder
During some lessons, you will be given a Focus quick quick time event (QTE) that you must pass. Successfully completing it will allow you to gain more rewards at the end of the lesson, including points for the House Cup. However, sometimes it can be a challenge trying to clear these when using the touch screen.
An easy way to pass these QTE sections is to press and hold the touch screen, then release when the ring is in the right place. This is much better than tapping the screen when you think the ring will stop in the right spot, as it will allow you to react faster to what is happening on screen. You aren't penalized for pressing and holding your finger on the screen, the ring will keep moving until you lift your screen press.
Winning duels in Hogwarts Mystery is important for a few key reasons. Not only can some duels progress the story, but you can also gain a significant number of attirbute points and XP for your character. In duels, there are three main stances.
•Aggressive
•Sneaky
•Defensive
Choose a stance and your classmate will do the same. There is a triangle of heirarchy for stances. Similar to rock/paper/scissor, the stance you choose will either be win or lose against your opponent's stance. If you win the exchange, then you get to cast your spell or execute an action. The heirarchy for stances goes as follows...
If you choose the right stance, you'll be able to choose your next action. The action will be based on the stance you went with. If your character attributes are high for that paticular action, it will have a greater effect on your opponent. The same will be for your your opponent and their actions as well.
As some of you may have noticed, the Q&A Spreadsheet is currently unavailable. Google has blocked it for violating their 'spam' policy. As it may take some time to get unblocked (if that is even possible), I threw to get another one. It's an updated version of a February copy, so a few of the more recent corrections may not have been carried over.
