- Lava Cauldron. Although meant for farming lava, the Lava Cauldron has been persistently used as a decoration piece in many builds throughout Minecraft history.
- Torch. The touch is the most commonly used and inexpensive light source item. There are two variations of the torch, one being the soul torch and the other being the standard one.
- Shroom Light. This block can be found in the nether on the giant fungi biome. This light-emitting block is much like glow stones however with little tweaks.
- Froglight. The Froglight block is a new addition to the Minecraft universe. There are multiple variations of this block with different colors. They emit light level 15, which is the highest number a block can have.
- Beacon. First up is the Beacon. Beacons are one of the brightest objects in Minecraft, with a Light Level of 15. However it’s also one of the hardest to obtain, as you’ll need to destroy a Wither, which is considered close to end-game content.
- Fire. Next up is Fire. Probably one of the most dangerous blocks in Minecraft, especially to be having indoors. Fire has a Light Level of 15, but is a risk to have inside as surrounding objects can catch fire.
- Glowstone. Glowstone also has a Light Level of 15, but can be difficult to obtain. Glowstone Blocks are each made up of 4 Glowstone Dust. The easiest way to obtain Glowstone Dust is by heading into the Nether and mining.
- Jack o’Lanterns. Jack o’Lanterns are Pumpkins which light up, they also offer a Light Level of 15. When you obtain a Jack o’Lanter, it will be unlit. You’ll need to add a torch to it inside a Crafting Table to light it, getting the result shown above.
- Torches. Ah, yes, the torch. An old classic that is still the most used light source in the game. It is very cost-efficient and does its designated job, aka brightening dark areas and preventing hostile mobs from spawning.
- Lanterns. Lanterns are one of the newer additions to the Minecraft world. They look great, and they also come in two variants: the classic yellow light (Lantern), and the blue light (Soul Lantern).
- Lamps. Lamps are light sources mostly created by players. Back when we did not have lanterns, people used their imagination and creativity to create street lamps, or various types of original lighting to brighten up their builds.
- Floor Lights. A similar idea comes in a form of lighting up the floor. It all started with lava spilling under the ground and creating a glass floor in your house.
