Mandatory texture pack and change the texture of the light block to something normal like stone bricks or something you're naturally using in your builds (or maybe make it transparent) 2. Another thing that produces light are the structure blocks in 1.9...which could be interesting to use in creative mode in certain places. Alternatively, could retexture those into custom light blocks, so if you are using a resource pack, these could be a way to introduce extra light sources. This is really helpful.

Apr 9, 2016 · As for intentionally making invisible light, the best way would probably be to use a mod that adds an invisible light block, or perhaps use a texture pack to make torches invisible (a list of all light-emitting blocks can be found here; most are not suitable though because they are solid, harm the player, or don't emit enough light).
