To recommend the best student discounts, we consulted sites like UNiDAYS, Student Beans, SheerID and ID.me, which aggregate student discount offerings from brands and retailers across shopping categories. Some also act as a third-party verification service to confirm your student status. Amazon: Students can get a Prime account for $69 a year, roughly half off a standard membership ($139 a year). Target: Students with a Target Circle membership can get 20% off one qualifying store purchase now through Aug. 26. Target Circle is a free loyalty program through which you get exclusive coupons year round.

- Apps and Software. College students get Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Microsoft Teams, and more) completely free. All you have to do is sign up using your valid school email address.
- Digital Subscriptions. Students get discounted Spotify Premium for up to four years, renewable every 12 months. You’ll get access to a special rate of $4.99/month (with ads), compared to the regular rate of $9.99/month.
- Events/Entertainment. How do discounted tickets to NFL, NCAA basketball, NHL, MLB, NBA, and MLS games sound? Students, after enrolling with ID.me to verify their student status, are eligible for tickets starting at $15 (depending upon the team, location, etc).
