Apr 9, 2024 · Improving mental well-being is essential for social workers. Self-care services are often facilitated to enhance it, but there is limited research exploring their characteristics and effectiveness. We conducted a systematic review of self-care interventions targeting the mental well-being of social workers.
Six main categories and 25 subcategories were finally identified as relating to challenges and barriers in the mental healthcare system worldwide: structural barriers, health culture, illness costs, rehabilitation management, biomedical model and alternative care provisions.
