Aug 4, 2023 · The Qur’an and Hadith emphasize peace in Islam, mercy, and compassion as fundamental values. The root word of Islam, ‘silm,’ means peace in Islam and one of God’s names is As-Salam, which also means peace.
This chapter explains the Islamic concepts of peace education by analyzing the introduction of the textbook ‘Islam and Peace Education’ used in Pakistani madaaris with particular reference to the interpretation of the Qur’an in it.

Islam promotes the peace, calm, harmony, any tranquility in society. Islam is a peaceful religion, its best examples, we can see, in the practical life of Holy Prophet (SAW). He was the Messenger of Allah (SWT) to convey the message of honesty, piousness, peace, mercy, integrity, and love.
What is the theological understanding of Mercy in Islam? This can be found in the two primary sources of revelation, the Qur’an and the Sunnah. The Qur’an is the sacred scripture written in Arabic, and the Sunnah includes sayings, teachings, habits, practices and silent approvals of the Prophet Muhammad.

Sep 13, 2024 · A Mercy Towards his Enemies. The prisoners of war taken captive at the battle of Badr were amongst his bitterest enemies. Nevertheless, he made sure that they were given the best of treatment. Among them was Suhayl bin 'Amr who was a fiery speaker and was denouncing the Prophet (PBUH).
I will argue that the basic principle of Islam, whether in relations with Muslims or non-Muslims, is interaction, peace, tolerance and friendship, and that war in Islam is forbidden except for defense.
