The “Year One Prerequisite Support Courses” shown below must be completed before the student can be considered for admission to the BSN major. A grade of “C” or better is required in all BSN program non-nursing support courses. All NRSE courses must be completed with no less than an 80% (“B-”).

However, the Nursing Major (B.S.N.) program requires a minimum of 121 semester hours. Completed application and admission to Ohio University; BSN Admission. Individuals must apply and meet specific School of Nursing requirements to be considered for selective admission into the BSN program. A minimum college GPA of 2.75 and other criteria are required for consideration of admission to the BSN major.
Ohio University requires the completion of a minimum of 120 semester hours for the conferral of a bachelor’s degree. This program can be completed within that 120-hour requirement. Upon successful completion of Nursing, University, and College requirements, students in major codes BS1203 or BS1221 will receive the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Following successful completion of the pre-licensure BSN program ( BS1221 ), students are eligible to take the National Council Licensing Exam for registered nurses (NCLEX-RN).
