Learn how to apply for and manage the education and training benefits you’ve earned.
The Education and Training Benefit (ETB) may be able to help pay for the education required for you to reach your career or personal goals. The funding from this taxable benefit is flexible. You can choose: the education that will help you get the career or reach the goal you want; and. the school that best suits you.
The Education and Training Benefit (“the Benefit”) provides up to $80,000 (taxable) to cover mandatory education costs and some incidental and living expenses, for Veterans enrolled in eligible educational programs.
If you have a service-connected disability that limits your ability to work or prevents you from working, you may be eligible for Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) benefits and services (Chapter 31)—like help exploring employment options and getting more training if required.
The Education and Training Benefit can help you pay for: Formal Programs that result in a diploma, degree, certificate, or training that leads to a certification or designation; and/or. Short Courses for career and personal development. Formal Program Funding.
