Parkland provides twice your base salary in basic term life insurance benefits. This policy is double indemnity. Supplemental coverage for you and your family is available at group rates. Coverage is underwritten by Reliance Standard.
The disability plan pays 60% of your base salary after a ninety-day elimination period. Coverage is underwritten by the Reliance Standard Insurance Company. Premium paid by Parkland College.
Employees may participate in the Flexible Spending or Dependent Day Care accounts. These programs are administered by Benefit Planning Consultants. Employees are also eligible to enroll in coverage programs available through AFLAC Insurance Company and can elect to have premiums payroll deducted.
Employees may earn vacation monthly and accrue sick leave and personal leave annually, based on employment category. Bereavement time off is also available. In addition to these hours, the college is closed for fourteen holidays and eight Fridays during the summer.
