Then see how you enjoy it. Also defender gear lasts until master rank, you should get out of defender gear and move to actual gear for iceborne.
The new set of Defender weapons will power you through the base game. The final version are contenders to some of the top tier weapon. Go check it out! The Gunlance is Wide 4 and I'm pretty sure the stats beat the Kulve Taroth one. The GS beats Wyvern Ignition in Raw, has innate White (vs Ignition's Blue), and has 300+ blast.

Caliginosus 4 years ago #2. Iirc almost all are good and roughly equal to the best weapons/are the best weapons now. Only the Bow and HH seem to be not too great. The CB is a bit worse too but it's not that much of a difference. I tried out the defender LS and hit around 1,5k with a peak performance set and the evasion mantle boost.

Defender weapons this go round seem to cap out at 150 Raw and Green Sharpness, so those should be the stats you're looking to beat first and foremost. I'd still recommend crafting the lower tier starter versions of other weapons along the way to lay the foundations for those replacements. I'd also say you should look into getting good armor too ...
Feb 20, 2022 · The Defender Weapon has not only by default a MORE THAN DOUBLE as high power score than the default weapon, but it comes also with higher sharpness to begin with and an extra bonus of defense which equals +20% on top of what the Black Belt armour set gives by default.
