Dec 19, 2022 · Sri Aurobindo was one of the greatest revolutionaries and spiritual leaders of India, the first to advocate Purna Swaraj. पूर्ण (Pūrṇa) Complete, स्वराज Self -rule. He defined what real freedom was – not only from the British but also from one’s own limited body-mind-sense complex, thus inspiring in people the highest level of spiritual consciousness.
Sri Aurobindo left his body on December 5, 1950. The Mother departed from hers on November 17, 1973. But the Ashram which they founded is aware of their presence all the time. The Samadhi in the courtyard of the main Ashram-building — holding the physical remains of both these mighty pioneers of a new world — is a living power.
