God is love. He is rich in mercy and everlasting love. And being in His presence, we’re told, brings the fullness of joy. This is why we want to fuel and follow our passion for God. Mark 12:30 You shall LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.
- You delight in someone else more than you delight in the Lord. Your love for God should be foremost in your heart, exceeding the bond of any other relationship.
- Your soul does not long for times of rich fellowship with God through His Word or in prayer. “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy . . . soul” (Mark 12:30).

Our selected text presents us with a great example of someone who greatly loved the Lord and His Church. I am referring of course to the Apostle Paul.
