eBay should have a longer buffer time before sending you win emails. 30 seconds time delay would let it shake out with last minute bids. They could also institute a 10 min bid extension when a bid comes in within 10 seconds of auction closing. I suspect the average eBay buyer would be confused by it, but it would benefit the seller and eBay.
