Guards, also known as the police, are a team in Prison Life that generally serve as the staff and defenders of the prison. Their objective is to protect the prison, oversee the inmates , arrest and/or kill hostile inmates and criminals , stop escape attempts and assist other guards.

The guard room is the guards base and the location of the armory. Players joining the Prison Life game as guards will spawn here. The room's entrance is a keycard door which is easy to get through because guards have to pass it to go inside or outside the room.
