Jan 1, 2001 · In God’s purpose for Cyrus, He promised to clear the impediments to his progress and purpose (vs. 2). Then in verse 3, the promise is given that, as Israel’s God, the Lord would give Cyrus possession of the “Treasures of darkness.”
Verse 3. - I will give thee the treasures of darkness ; i.e. "treasures stored in dark places" - "bidden treasures." Treasuries were built for greater security without windows.
