Blends
One of the easiest ways to get words mixed up is to think of one word while trying to say another. This is how blends end up happening. These mistakes happen regularly in all languages and are usually easy to notice. Portmanteaus

But when I’m speaking in any situation, fully sober, I mess up some words. Especially words that have “ea” in them. Ear, deal, deaf, speak, eatery, feature, seating, headmaster, reallocate, beautician, permeability, earnestness, etc. Years ago, I use to say “viper” instead of “wiper” and vice versa.
