Oct 24, 2023 · The foremost role of a woman in the Bible is that of a wife. She is a companion who supports her husband (Genesis 2:18, 20; Proverbs 12:4:), enriches his life (Proverbs 31:11), and brings him joy and pleasure (Genesis 2:23; Song of Songs 4:1–15).
- A Godly Woman Fears the Lord. Proverbs 31:30 says… “Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.” Rather than focusing on outward beauty or appealing to other people, a godly woman focuses on God first.
- She Speaks and Behaves Wisely. Proverbs 31:26-27 says… “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.”

- She Submits to Her Husband in Christian Marriage. Colossians 3:18 says… “Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.” Rather than sinfully seeking dominance over her spouse, a godly woman should submit to her husband as he follows the Lord in their marriage.
