Oct 31, 2024 · Answer. Jesus told us to “store up for yourselves treasures in heaven” (Matthew 6:20). He linked this command to the desire of our hearts: “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21; see also verses 10–20).
“Store your treasures in heaven … Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be” (Matthew 6:20-21, NLT). Obviously, the grandfather in his wisdom, was sending a message to his young grandson that if he lives according to God’s Word, he will be sending up the right materials.
But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”.
