Jun 15, 2016 · As the Son of God, Jesus taught many things to help us live victoriously. Let’s look at ten life lessons that we can learn from Jesus. #1 Love God with all that you are. Matthew 22:36-38 says, “’Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?’
- Love your neighbor as yourself. This might just be one of Jesus’s most pivotal teachings. Let’s face it, life can be tough. And in the midst of our own struggles, it can be easy to forget about others.
- Forgive others as you would be forgiven. This teaching from Jesus really hit home for me personally. There was a time in my life when I held onto grudges and let the bitterness eat away at me.
- Seek first the kingdom of God. Jesus’s teaching to “Seek first the kingdom of God” might seem a little abstract at first. But when we dive into it, we realize how transformational it can be for our lives.
- Turn the other cheek. In a world where retaliation is often the first reaction, Jesus taught us to “turn the other cheek”. This doesn’t mean becoming a doormat or accepting abuse.
- Wash One Another's Feet. “If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you” (John 13:14-15).
- Love Each Other. “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:34-35).
- Do Not Let Your Heart Be Troubled; Instead, Believe. “Do not let your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.
- Love Him and Keep His Commands. If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; this is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. …
- God Should Always Be First in Our Hearts. Exodus 20:3 says, “You shall have no other gods before Me.” This is the first of what is popularly known as the Ten Commandments.
- Treat God as Your Most Treasured Relationships. Matthew 6:21 says, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Jesus is speaking about what we treasure in our hearts, as well as our physical treasure.
- God Cares for Us and Wants to Calm Our Fears. 1 Peter 5:7 says, “Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.” The next time you are afraid, try giving your fear over to God.
- Bless Others with Your Time, Talents, and Treasure. Hebrews 13:16 says, “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”
