Oct 18, 2021 · Luke's passages reveal that women prayed, hoped, believed, were baptized, persecuted, and persevered for the Faith just as men did. Jesus valued them and considered them worthy of the Kingdom. He saw them as role models and examples for their faith, receptivity and capacity to love.
Abstract: Scholars are divided on the question of Luke's portrayal of women. Several have noted that Luke silences women. An analysis of who speaks, what they say, and how it is received shows that in the Gospel, both women and men have significant speaking parts in the infancy narratives.
