Oct 16, 2022 · 1.18 did take the fun out of strip mining and if developers weren't happy with previous ore distribution systems then they should've thought about that before releasing them in final builds. If people wanted more punishing ore distribution, that's what custom worlds were for.

According to Minecraft’s official website and Minecraft Wikia, there are some updates in this edition: Users running Minecraft in a 32-bit environment will receive a warning in the main menu about the upcoming end of 32-bit environment support.
1 new blocks and items were added to Minecraft 1.18 java edition. Caves and Cliffs - Part 2. An update so big they split it in two. Almost all the blocks and items where added in 1.17. Caves and Cliffs part one technically added most of the blocks and items to be found in 1.18 but they are not found in world until part two.

There are a bunch of brand-new biomes to discover in 1.18 both above and below the surface, from lush caves and dripstone caves to jagged peaks and meadows. In addition, cave biomes may sometimes generate directly below biomes on the surface!
