morphology is the study of word formation, including the ways new words are coined in the languages of the world, and the way forms of words are varied depending on how they’re used in sentences.
In this article I attempt to clarify the concept of plant mor-phology as a discipline, review its historical heritage, and dis-cuss how it relates to and differs from systematics. I show that plant morphology is a scientific discipline with its own prin-ciples, from which predictions can be made about the un-known.
