- Giver of the Law. (Psalm 119:1) God is the one who gives us the Bible. They are words directly from God Himself. We can trust the God of the Bible because He has revealed Himself through the pages of Scripture.
- Teaches Us. (Psalm 119:12, 33, 66, 124) Are you wondering what life means? Do you search for answers? God has them, in the pages of His Word. God has given all Christians the Holy Spirit to help us discern what the Bible is saying (1 Corinthians 2:10-16).

Psalm 119 is full of rich truths about the value of Scripture and the content of the Bible, God’s Word to us. It is the longest psalm and chapter of the Bible. In the 176 verses of Psalm 119, different words used for the Word are used at least 156 times.
- The Word breathes life into my discouraged soul. “My soul clings to the dust, give me life according to your word!” Psalm 119:25.
- The Word exposes misleading thoughts. “Put false ways far from me and graciously teach me your law!” Psalm 119:29.
- The Word modifies my gaze. “Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things, and give me life in your ways.” Psalm 119:37.
- The Word fills me with true hope. “Remember your word to your servant, in which you have made me hope.” Psalm 119:49.
Law (torah, used 25 times in Psalm 119): “Its parent verb means ‘teach’ or ‘direct’; therefore coming from God it means both ‘law’ and ‘revelation.’.
