Oct 12, 2024 · Prioritizing Eternal Wealth: The Bible teaches that our focus should be on heavenly or eternal wealth rather than solely on earthly riches. In Matthew 6:19-21, Jesus advises, “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven.”
The abundant wealth of God’s creation is discovered further on in the biblical narrative by the people of Israel, when they finally reach the Promised Land. It is a land “flowing with milk and honey,” rich with all the ingredients needed to live according to God’s design.
