#1 We are Born-again through the Power of the Word
The seed that brings forth the new creation in the born-again experience is the Word of God. Our new life comes from the living Word that we hear and receive by faith through the power of the Holy Spirit (1 Peter 1:23; James 1:18).
#2 The Word is the Source of our Faith
The Word creates faith, both for the new birth and for living victoriously as Christians. If you ever feel like you lack faith, immerse yourself in the Word, and you will become strengthened as your faith increases (Romans 10:17).
#3 We know God through His Word
Through a daily and consistent study of the Bible, we grow in our knowledge of God and learn to glorify and honor Him. Otherwise, how can we trust and obey a God we do not know? Proverbs 2:1-5tells us that if we accept God’s Words, we will “understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.”
Over the years, I started one-year or through the Bible in 90 days plans multiple times but got stuck in the prophetic books of the Old Testament. The result was that I had read the entire New Testament and most of the Old Testament multiple times but had never completely read through some of the Old Testament prophetic books, so I decided to fix t...
Is God asking you to change your approach to His Word? Stop and Ponder!! God has given us new lives in Christ. Our response is to receive His Word, study and meditate on His manual, the Bible, and obey Him. As we do this, we will surely be transformed into the image of Christ from glory to glory. Amen! Until next time…… Chizobam Idahosa To ensure y...
- It is the power of God to salvation. The gospel of Christ or the Good News about Christ is the Word of God. Paul says he is not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek (Romans 1:16).
- It is your access to the life of God. The Word of God will give you life. It will revive you and refresh you. Philippians 2:16 calls the Word of God the word of life – hold tightly to the Word of life.
- It is the nourishment for spiritual growth. 1 Peter 2:2 enjoins believers, as newborn babes, to desire the pure milk of the word that they may grow thereby.
- It protects against sin. Psalm 119:11 says, “Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You” (NKJV). The Word of God will keep you away from sin when you study it, meditate on it day and night, keep it in your heart, and allow it to control your thoughts and actions.
Feb 9, 2024 · In fact, the Bible says He is these things: God is love (1 John 4:16), and God is life (John 1:3-4). If God is both the source of life, and life itself, and He is eternal, then life must be understood as something beyond 75 years (give or take) on a rock hurtling through space.
Nov 20, 2013 · The Word of God has a reviving effect because it causes life to come from death, not only once and for all to those dead in their sins (Eph. 2:1) but to the believer in times of deep struggle with sin (Rom. 7). The Word of God has a "wising up" effect because it causes those who are unwise in themselves to be wise in Christ.
Nov 30, 2023 · As John 3:16 indicates, “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life” (NLT). Jesus, in John 14:6, identifies Himself as “the way, the truth and the life.”
