May 10, 2024 · Exciting work is set to begin on the Buena Vista Park Upgrade Project. Keep an eye out for construction fencing going up this week. Pathways and public access remain open until construction officially begins next week.
I live in Hayes and had never been in this park, went for a nice long walk today and hiked up to the top and it was amazing. I much prefer it to the parks like Dolores and Alamo that are primarily just lawns to hang out on (although that’s great sometimes too).

Because of the many illegal activities and the overwhelming number of strangers, the park fell into despair until the late 1970’s. No longer considered a safe place for children or families, many residents perceived that crime and indecencies took over Buena Vista Park.
