Port Regis School is a co-educational preparatory school located in 140 acres of parkland on the Dorset-Wiltshire border in southern England, situated between the towns of Shaftesbury and Gillingham. History
In 1942, a Prisoner of War Camp was erected in the grounds of the park, housing Germans, and, after the war, Polish refugees. In 1943, after a mine dropped by a German plane landed too close to the school for comfort, Port Regis was evacuated to a wing of Bryanston School.

Founded in 1881, it is named Port Regis (gate of the king) after an ancient arch that was built to commemorate Charles at on one of its earlier locations. Today, the school is a popular co-ed prep school with Dorset families, as well as overseas students (around 20% of students come from overseas).
