    With the departure of Larry Ogunjobi, the Bengals had a need along the defensive line. They filled it by taking 284-pound Florida defensive lineman Zachary Carter in the third round. In 46 games with the Gators, Carter had 107 tackles, 28.5 tackles for loss and 17.5 sacks.

    As other teams around them made trades during the draft, the Bengals stood at No. 136 and took North Dakota State offensive tackle Cordell Volson. Volson played in 65 games at NDSU, starting 41.
